Acer palmatum ‘Katsura’ – A Beautiful Japanese Maple with Unique Colour

Acer palmatum ‘Katsura’ is a stunning Japanese maple that offers a striking display of vibrant foliage. In spring, the young leaves emerge in a soft orange, transitioning to a golden yellow before turning a rich green through summer. In autumn, the tree provides a dramatic colour show with bright shades of orange and red, creating a spectacular seasonal display.

Reaching a height of 4–5 metres with a spread of 3–4 metres, Acer ‘Katsura’ is perfect for medium to larger gardens, woodland settings, or as a focal point in mixed borders. It thrives in a sheltered position with dappled shade or partial sun, as it is sensitive to direct afternoon sunlight, which can scorch its delicate leaves.
