Cosmos atrosanguineus ‘Cherry Chocolate’ – 2L Pot
Add rich, velvety colour and sweet fragrance to your summer garden with Cosmos atrosanguineus ‘Cherry Chocolate’, a striking perennial known for its deep burgundy, almost black blooms and subtle chocolate scent. Flowering from mid-summer through to the first frosts, this elegant variety is perfect for adding drama to borders, containers, or cut flower arrangements.
Best positioned in full sun and well-drained soil, ‘Cherry Chocolate’ thrives in sheltered spots, particularly against a warm wall or in a sunny courtyard. It’s ideal for cottage-style gardens, pollinator patches, and patio pots where its dark, velvety blooms can really shine.
Although deadheading isn’t essential, removing spent flowers will encourage continuous blooming. In autumn, once flowering finishes, cut back faded stems and lift the tuber if your area is prone to frost. Store it in a cool, frost-free place until replanting in spring. In mild areas, you can mulch deeply and leave it in the ground.
Feed every 2–3 weeks during the growing season with a high-potash liquid fertiliser (such as tomato feed) to boost flowering and vigour.
Supplied in a well-established 2-litre pot, Cosmos ‘Cherry Chocolate’ is a luxurious, long-flowering choice for adding scent and sophistication to summer displays.
