Sarpo Mira Seed Potatoes are an exceptional maincrop variety, renowned for their high resistance to blight and other common potato diseases. With their smooth, red skin and firm, waxy texture, they are perfect for boiling, roasting, or mashing. Sarpo Mira produces high yields of uniform tubers and is an excellent choice for organic and disease-prone gardens, ensuring a reliable crop throughout the season.

When to Plant:
Plant Sarpo Mira potatoes in early to mid-spring, typically from late March to April, once the soil has warmed and is free from frost. Choose a sunny, well-drained location and prepare the soil by loosening it and adding organic matter. Chit the seed potatoes before planting by placing them in a cool, bright area for 2-3 weeks to promote sprouting and stronger growth.

When to Feed:
Feed Sarpo Mira potatoes with a balanced fertiliser or a potato-specific feed. Apply the first dose 4-6 weeks after planting to encourage healthy foliage growth, and a second feed when the plants begin to flower to promote tuber development and enhance yields.

When to Harvest:
Sarpo Mira potatoes are typically ready for harvest in around 14-16 weeks, from late summer to early autumn (August to September), once the foliage begins to yellow and die back.

How to Get the Best Results:
For the best results, ensure consistent watering during dry spells and keep the soil weed-free. Regularly hill up the soil around the plants to protect the tubers from sunlight and improve overall yield. With their excellent blight resistance, Sarpo Mira potatoes are perfect for less ideal growing conditions, offering a healthy and bountiful crop.
