Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) 5L
Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) is a highly rewarding fruit shrub that offers delicious, nutrient-rich berries from midsummer to early autumn. This deciduous shrub produces clusters of small, white or pink-tinged flowers in spring, followed by juicy blue berries. With its striking red foliage in autumn, it adds ornamental value to any garden. Growing to a height and spread of up to 1.5 meters over 5-10 years, it is ideal for garden borders, allotments, or large containers.
Best Position: Plant in a sunny or partially shaded position with acidic, well-drained soil. Blueberries thrive in ericaceous (acidic) soil, so if planting in containers, use a special ericaceous compost. For best fruiting, a sunny location is ideal, but some shelter from cold winds is recommended.
Flowering Time: Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) blooms in spring (April to May), with berries ripening from midsummer (July) to early autumn (September).
Care Tips: Feed with an ericaceous fertilizer in early spring and again in mid-summer to support healthy growth and fruiting. Prune lightly in late winter, removing any dead or weak branches and thinning out older wood to encourage new growth.
Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) is perfect for adding a bountiful harvest of delicious berries to your garden or patio!
