Acer ‘Yasmin’ – A Beautiful, Compact Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum ‘Yasmin’ is a striking, compact Japanese maple, known for its delicate, finely cut leaves that change colour throughout the year. In spring, the foliage emerges a soft pink, transitioning to a vibrant green with tinges of red during summer, before turning fiery shades of red and orange in autumn. This tree provides stunning seasonal colour and texture, making it a perfect choice for smaller gardens or containers.

Reaching a height of 2.5–3 metres and a spread of 2–2.5 metres, ‘Yasmin’ is ideal for confined spaces or as a focal point in borders. It thrives in a sheltered position with dappled shade or partial sun. A well-drained, moist, slightly acidic soil is essential for its health. Plant in autumn or early spring to allow for root establishment before the growing season.

To promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage, feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring. Mulching with organic material will help retain moisture and keep the roots cool.
