Zantedeschia White, also known as Calla Lily, is a beautiful and elegant plant that is perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to any garden.
Best position: Zantedeschia White prefers a position in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter. These plants can grow up to 60cm tall and should be planted with enough space to allow good air circulation. Zantedeschia White is ideal for borders, containers, and water gardens.
Flowering time: Zantedeschia White produces elegant white flowers with a yellow spadix that bloom from early summer to early autumn. The flowers are highly attractive to pollinators, making them a great choice for a pollinator-friendly garden. Deadheading the spent blooms can encourage the plant to produce more flowers.
When to feed: Zantedeschia White will benefit from a balanced fertiliser applied in early spring. A liquid feed every two weeks during the growing season can also provide nutrients for the plant. Avoid over-fertilising the plant as it can lead to leggy growth and weak stems.
When to prune: Zantedeschia White does not require regular pruning, but you can deadhead spent blooms and remove any damaged leaves or stems to promote healthy growth. If the plant becomes overcrowded, you can divide the rhizomes in the autumn to promote new growth. Note that all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested, so keep it away from children and pets.
