Gerbera daisies are popular for their striking and colourful blooms that add a burst of colour to any garden or indoor space.
Best position: Gerbera Dark Pink prefer a sunny to partially shaded position in the garden, with well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter. These plants require consistent moisture, but they do not like to be waterlogged, so be sure to provide good drainage. Gerbera Dark Pink are best suited for containers or borders, and they grow to a height of around 30cm.
Flowering time: Gerbera Dark Pink produces striking and vibrant pink flowers from late spring to early autumn. These flowers are highly attractive to pollinators, making them a great addition to any pollinator-friendly garden. The flowers last for several weeks and are excellent for cutting, making them perfect for bouquets or floral arrangements.
When to feed: Gerbera Dark Pink will benefit from regular feeding with a balanced fertiliser throughout the growing season. You can also use a slow-release fertiliser that is specifically formulated for flowering plants. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully when applying fertiliser, as overfeeding can lead to poor growth and weak stems.
When to prune: Gerbera Dark Pink does not require pruning, but you can deadhead the spent flowers to encourage more blooms and to keep the plant looking tidy. Remove any dead or damaged leaves and stems to promote healthy growth and prevent diseases. If the plant becomes leggy or overgrown, you can cut it back by up to half its height in the early spring to promote bushy growth.
